Is anyone else as surprised as I am about the air conditioning being controlled in another state? At store 1105 our ac is controled in Minnesota, and we are in the middle of a heat wave!
Ah, I'm going to assume Louisville? I work at the New Albany store.
I feel bad for anyone who works upstairs in the office. Last week the air wasn't working up there, and it was stifling. Stale hot air... I believe it was almost as hot in there as it was outside.
hey, working overnight at my store, there's no ac at all. it comes back on automatically at 4 so the store's nice and comfy for guests, but it's a bitch unloading trucks and sweating your ass off.
Eek, I've wondered if they keep the air flowing for the overnight staffed stores. I guess not. It always bugs me when the cleaning crew starts polishing the floor with their propane-powered buffer, those fumes are terrible. It's probably unhealthy too.
ah, the fumes when they're stripping the floor is the worst. and last week we had these guys come in and change out the carpets for softlines. there wasn't a bad smell, more of a taste. like my mouth felt like I'd been eating glue and there was this awful taste in my mouth. everybody else said they had it too. our exec actually went home cuz she was all vomitous. but level 1s slaved on. boo. :T
I'm overnight (reverse logistics) in a NY store and our a/c is "broken" although it works fine in the offices and at TSC - the fans go off completely at night and it is sweltering. Beyond sweltering - very sad how much the team members are cared for. They provide us with a free sauna. I believe all system operations are controlled from Mn - AC, lighting - including parking lots, etc for all stores.

Our AC doesnt even tend to work. In food ave. its broken. And they won't care to fix it!
It hit 99 here last week and its very humid... so it felt like 113.
Which is, btw, Kentucky.
Sorry, rantness.
